About

I build the data layer for the agent era.

I’m Andrew Fribush, an engineer who likes the parts of the stack other people find tedious: messy government datasets, fragile ingestion pipelines, and the unglamorous work of making information actually queryable.

Right now I’m building a suite of public-data APIs that turn scattered US federal sources, campaign finance, workplace safety, drug approvals, consumer complaints, patents, the Federal Register, and dozens more, into clean MCP servers and REST APIs that LLMs and humans can both query. Underneath them sits a shared corpus framework I built so a new dataset becomes a production service in days, not months.

The other half of my work is at Abstract, where I build AI infrastructure with an engineering team, speech and video analysis, knowledge systems, customer intelligence, and compliance, for clients like ALL-SAFE, FINCA International, and Saatva. It started as a Shopify Plus shop, and still ships commerce for beauty and DTC brands including Pat McGrath Labs, Credo Beauty, and AUrate.

Before all that I spent a decade founding companies and shipping software for banks, civic campaigns, and institutions. The throughline: I build systems and write about what I learn when they break.

Each service mirrors a canonical government source, normalizes it, and exposes the same three surfaces: an MCP server for agents, an OpenAPI REST layer for apps, and static pages for everyone else. See the full catalog →

Questions people ask.

Who is Andrew Fribush?

Andrew Fribush is a software engineer and consultant based in Austin, Texas, with fifteen years shipping production systems across banks, ecommerce, healthcare, and AI infrastructure. He is Director of Engineering at Abstract, where he leads an independent AI engineering team, and independently builds a suite of public-data APIs that turn US federal datasets into MCP servers and REST APIs for the AI-agent era.

What is Andrew Fribush known for?

Building production AI and data infrastructure that ships. His work includes FINCA International’s multilingual audio-AI pipeline, thousands of hours of field interviews across 4 countries and 6 languages, searchable in seconds, the ALL-SAFE AI surgical-training platform that won a $700,000 grand prize, and a public-data framework that turns a new government dataset into a production service in days, now spanning 40+ data products, 443 MCP tools, and 313 REST routes.

What does Andrew Fribush specialize in?

Production AI and LLM systems (RAG, speech and audio AI, LLM orchestration with compliance controls, and MCP), Shopify Plus and headless commerce, and public-data engineering. On the commerce side he has scaled a brand from 0 to $5M+ a year and rebuilt storefronts with measurable gains, including +43% site speed and +20% conversions.

Is Andrew Fribush available for consulting or hire?

Yes. He takes on consulting and project work in production AI/LLM systems, hard-data and public-data engineering, and commerce. The best way to start is a short consultation, reach him at hello@andrewfribush.com.

Building something data-shaped?

I’m most useful where there’s a hard dataset and a need to make it usable. The code is the best introduction.
